Hurry up 2011

I don’t know what it is about this lull between Christmas and New Year’s, but it drives me crazy every year.  Don’t get me wrong, I love being off work (I’ve already started dreading going back-slow down break!), but I just feel like it’s this anticipation build up to no where.  I don’t know, New Year’s Eve has never been that big of a deal to me.  Plus, snow came super early this year and although I typically love snow I’m really not looking forward to another solid two months of winter.  I’m really craving a warm beach vacation badly, which is not like me at all.  It reminds me of something someone said once, it was really simple, but it struck me…”Why do you think so many people like to sun tan or go tanning?  They’re laying in the “sun”.  A mere representation of the “son”.”  I mean if I think back to my best beach vacations the fondest memories are being at just the right temperature in the sun.  Not too hot, but warm with a fabulous breeze and perhaps even the water brushing up against my toes.  All things that mimic parts of the Kingdom in my mind…the warm love, living refreshing water, and the wind of the Holy Spirit.  Ok, this is only making me want to go to the beach more…

I was super touched today when I was told someone was fasting for my health and our family.  It has been a rough couple of months.  Spending Christmas Eve in the ER was like the last straw for me.  It’s so frustrating that no one can figure out what is wrong.  Lots of people from back home have been praying for me, which I totally appreciate.  This particular person who is fasting though just surprised me I guess because he’s a very busy person and I was honored that he would sacrifice comforts for my benefit.  So here’s to receiving my healing, getting out of this funk, and getting on with the New Year!

Quick Summary

Another month has flown by since my last post.  Jimminy Cricket.  Life has been so busy, but here’s a short summary of the last few weeks…

We had Thanksgiving in there, a wedding, lots of snow (and it’s only December), Copper started puppy class and had her first haircut, the doctors are still trying to figure out what is wrong with my stomach/esophagus (looks like a scope is next-ugh), my good friend Jillian had her baby, and I’ve just spent the last two days baking cookies in preparation for Christmas.

Ben taking a break from cooking on Thanksgiving and my cute puppy.  She has the life.

My family got a new puppy too-Ruby.  Copper and her have become good buddies.

That’s all I have for now.  Merry Christmas to all!
